How to use it

Find your real profit in four steps

  1. Enter your price and category. The category sets your referral fee. Most products pay 15%.
  2. Add the packaged size and weight. These decide your size tier and FBA fee. Shaving half an inch off the box can drop you into a cheaper tier.
  3. Add your costs. Product cost, shipping to Amazon and your ad spend as a share of sales (TACoS).
  4. Read the result. Aim for a net margin above 20% and total Amazon fees below about 35% of net revenue.

How the numbers are calculated

Total Amazon fees = referral fee + FBA fee + storage + other fees
Net profit = net revenue − total Amazon fees − product cost − inbound shipping − ad spend
Break-even ACoS = profit before ads ÷ net revenue

FBA fees follow Amazon's US rate card effective 15 January 2026 for non-apparel, non-dangerous goods. Dimensional weight uses a divisor of 139. Storage uses $0.78 per cubic foot (January to September) or $2.40 (October to December) for standard-size items, and $0.56 or $1.40 for bulky items.

Frequently asked questions

How are Amazon FBA fees calculated in 2026?

The FBA fulfillment fee depends on the size tier (small standard, large standard, small bulky, large bulky or extra-large), the billable weight and, since 2026, the selling price band (under $10, $10 to $50, over $50). Billable weight is the unit weight for small standard items and the greater of unit weight or dimensional weight (length x width x height / 139) for larger items.

What is the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge?

From 17 April 2026 Amazon added a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on US FBA fulfillment fees. It applies to the fulfillment fee only, not to referral or storage fees. The calculator includes it by default; untick the box to see the base fee.

What is the Amazon referral fee?

The referral fee is Amazon's commission on each sale, a percentage of the total sales price that depends on the category. Most categories pay 15%. Some pay less at low prices (for example Beauty and Baby pay 8% at $10 or under) and every item pays at least $0.30.

Why do you show fees as a percentage of net revenue?

Fees as a share of what you actually collect make products comparable. A product whose total Amazon fees are above about 35% to 40% of net revenue usually needs a price, packaging or sourcing fix before ads can be profitable.

Does this include holiday peak fees?

No. Amazon charges higher peak fulfillment fees from 15 October to 14 January. If you know your exact fee from Seller Central, type it into the FBA fee override field and every result updates.

What is break-even ACoS?

Break-even ACoS is your profit before advertising divided by your selling price. If you spend more than that share of the sale on ads, the sale loses money. Use our break-even ACoS calculator to turn it into a maximum bid.

Is this calculator accurate?

It uses Amazon's published 2026 US rate card for non-apparel, non-dangerous goods. Your final fees can differ because of apparel or hazmat rates, inbound placement fees, low-inventory fees, returns and promotions. Seller Central's fee preview is always the final word.
